Tutorials

We believe that receiving proper support leads to success and is one of the reasons why North Star Academy offers tutorials every day after school.

Tutorials are used for different purposes depending on the subject. In all cases, these provide a time to review material, ask questions and complete work with assistance available.

The purpose of Language Arts, French and ESL tutorials is to provide students with an opportunity to refine their writing and grammatical skills. A student will be given supplemental writing and grammar exercises to complete and will receive feedback from the teacher. If a student would like to attend to complete an assignment or ask questions about a lesson, he or she is more than welcome to do so.

Math tutorials are held to give students an opportunity to complete their homework with support available. If a student would like to use a tutorial to complete supplemental exercises or to ask any questions about notes or in-class work, they are more than welcome to do so.

History and geography tutorials provide a time to review recent lessons. Students can also attend to review for a test, work on projects or complete homework assignments when appropriate.

Science tutorials are held to review recent material and allow students an opportunity to complete their homework with assistance available.

Please take note that some tutorials have a greater diversity and number of students than others. Due to this, the format of the tutorial varies.
