The Polaris Foundation is dedicated to helping students achieve their fullest potential by providing financial assistance to individuals and the collective student body of North Star Academy Laval. Their mission is to expand cutting-edge learning initiatives, and create new pathways for students to succeed and thrive. By investing in these areas, they provide North Star Academy Laval the opportunity to enhance its offerings.
Driving the Polaris Foundation’s mission are three key initiatives:
1. Educational Innovations
The Polaris Foundation is proud to invest in initiatives that enhance student's educational experience. When special projects or technological innovations require financial support NSAL faculty can submit a request to the Foundation for additional funding.
2. Community Connections
Our Community Connections program integrates academically linked activities into the NSAL curriculum, providing an additional layer of enrichment. These activities involve either bringing in the community to the school through guest speakers or special events or bringing students out into the community. The Polaris Foundation provides funding for the initiatives that exceed the annual school budgets, ensuring vibrant engagement for NSAL students with the broader community. The goal is to foster internal collaboration and create external partnerships and opportunities for real life learning.
3. Scholarships & Tuition Bursaries
Yearly, the Foundation supports students with scholarships and bursaries for students to access private education by subsidizing a portion of the tuition costs. With only two English education options on the entire North Shore of Montreal, The Polaris Foundation believes that access to an English education should not be limited due to financial constraints.

On Thursday September 13th, NSAL is hosting its annual Orientation Night. This important night gives parents an opportunity to meet their child's teachers, see what the curriculum will be for the year and learn about whats new and upcoming for the school year. This year, this evening will feature time to circulate and get to know the teachers, a Head of School address, Principal Information Session and an overview of this years use of technology from out IT department. Following the orientation portion of the evening is this academic year's first School Committee meeting. Come and join us for this informative evening.
