Bringing the world to our students and our students to the world is a key focus of our school
Allowing students the opportunity to see the world and experience a mosaic of different cultures is a key focus of the Academy. Our annual trips are a wonderfully anticipated event for all of the grade levels each year. Through these trips, students receive the opportunity to experience new places, cultures, see historic and iconic sites as well as create bonds and memories that last a lifetime.
Every year, the Grade 7 class packs their bags for a two-day trip to Morin Heights. While away, the students stay in quaint cabins, cook meals together, go on hikes, bond over a bonfire, cook s'mores and participate in the Acro-Nature adventure experience. It is always a trip to remember.
Our Grade 8 and 9 students get to experience one of two trips: A trip to Historical Quebec city to attend one of the world's largest winter carnival. The Carnival is a unique winter experience where over 3 days they enjoy many activities such as the snow slides and snow sculptures. They also visit the famous Ice Hotel, the aquarium and Citadel. Or A trip to Toronto/ Niagara Falls where over 3 days, the students get to see the historical CN tower, Rogers center, Ripley’s aquarium and of course the legendary falls. These trips create memories that last a lifetime.
Every year, the Grade 9 & 10 attend a trip to either New York City or Washington. These trips create life long memories of seeing famous sites, being with friends and travelling to new places.
This humanitarian trip is an important student initiative. Students raise money and go to Costa Rica to help serve those in need.
Last year our secondary 5 students went to Greece on their Eurotrip. NSAL's Eurotrip in 2018 was a great success, as it always is. With the favor of the Greek gods, they had clear skies and calm waters to visit Athens, Delphi and the Greek Islands. From the Acropolis, to the temple of Apollo and the vistas of Santorini, the students were blown away by their beauty. These trips create life long memories of seeing famous sites, being with friends and travelling to new places.

On Thursday September 13th, NSAL is hosting its annual Orientation Night. This important night gives parents an opportunity to meet their child's teachers, see what the curriculum will be for the year and learn about whats new and upcoming for the school year. This year, this evening will feature time to circulate and get to know the teachers, a Head of School address, Principal Information Session and an overview of this years use of technology from out IT department. Following the orientation portion of the evening is this academic year's first School Committee meeting. Come and join us for this informative evening.
