At North Star Academy Laval, Global Citizenship is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy, empowering students to take meaningful action for social justice and sustainability both locally and globally. Through our programs, we aim to foster a deep understanding of human rights, interdependence, diversity, peace and conflict, and environmental sustainability.
Our Global Education Program integrates seamlessly with NSAL’s Signature Community Connections initiatives, offering teachers clear pathways and resources to guide students in exploring global issues. Whether through service-learning projects, classroom discussions, or experiential opportunities, we encourage students to think critically about their roles in fostering social and environmental change.
Our approach equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to actively engage in creating a more equitable and sustainable future. Critical thinking, global awareness, and collaborative problem-solving are embedded across the curriculum, providing students with the tools to address real-world challenges and contribute positively to their communities and the world at large.
Global Citizenship at NSAL is not confined to a single subject; rather, it is a guiding principle that permeates all aspects of learning. By encouraging students to challenge stereotypes, embrace diversity, and recognize the equal worth of all people, we inspire them to become active contributors to a fairer, more sustainable society.
At its heart, Global Citizenship Education at NSAL is about preparing students to be thoughtful, compassionate leaders who are committed to making a difference in their world. Through their journey at our school, students develop a strong sense of responsibility and the confidence to shape a brighter future for everyone.
